Call today and you'll have a new smile - whiter and brighter sooner than you think!

Is tooth whitening becoming more popular?

Yes, because a bright, beautiful smile can make a big difference in your personal and professional life.

The Zoom! Whitening System makes it easier and faster than ever before to achieve success and confidence with your smile.

What is Zoom! tooth whitening?

Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration of the dentin.  This is a layer of tooth structure under the enamel.  This process is very gentle to the tooth structure and is a very safe process.

What can cause tooth discoloration?

There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea or tobacco. During tooth formation consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discoloration.

Who may benefit from tooth whitening?

Just about anyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. With an oral exam, Dr. Lowenguth can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.

Is tooth whitening safe?

Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. In fact, many dentists consider whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. As with any tooth whitening product, Dr. Lowenguth does not recommend Zoom! for patients under 18 years of age, individuals sensitive to light, patients with COPD or women that are pregnant or lactating.

Do the results last a long time?

By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will stay lighter than they were before treatment for a long time.  Oral care following whitening will be reviewed and are designed specifically to keep your teeth their brightest.

Is there any difference between over-the-counter tooth whiteners and Zoom!

Yes! Consulting Dr. Lowenguth is always the first step to whitening your teeth safely. Over-the-counter tooth whitening strips, brush-on gels and toothpastes take weeks or months to whiten your teeth just a few shades. Zoom! is clinically proven to whiten your teeth eight shades* in one hour.

How does the Zoom! In-Office System work?

Zoom! incorporates a light-activated whitening gel.  The gel releases oxygen which goes through the enamel to reach the dentin to produce the desired whitening. The Zoom! accelerator or light enhances the amount of oxygen available, thus, it penetrate the surface of the tooth more effectively for a beautiful smile.

Is the Zoom! In-office procedure painful?

The vast majority of patients experience no discomfort during treatment or after whitening.  A few individuals may have teeth with increased sensitivity at some point during or after treatment.  Dr. Lowenguth will discuss the whitening process in more detail and the steps necessary to give you a pleasant experience and a brighter smile.

How long is the procedure?

The entire procedure takes about 90 minutes. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by the whitening process.
